A Head Full of Dreams Concert 101

by - 3:24 AM

This band stole Jakarta's hippiest kids attention since they announce their schedule to perform in Singapore next April. And, fortunately, last December i already got a chance to watch "A Head Full of Dream Tour" in Australia. In Etihad Stadium, Melbourne, me and my very well bestfriend forever and ever (are you happy April?) are able to experience the best concert of the year! And, with all the memory, everything that i have experience at the concert, i feel wasted if i dont share it to you. The People that about to experience "A Head Full of Dream". You about to watch some spectacular show, the sound that as clear as you hear in your headset (even clearer), the lighting as beautiful as aurora, the song as nostalgic as you expected, the Band as energetic, playful, and strong as you imagine. And here some of my notes that might helps you enjoy your A Head Full of Dream more:

1. Please Don't Be An Asshole
Okay, this part is not only applicable for A Head Full of Dream Concert, but also any music performance. One thing that i learn from Jakarta's concert crowd are some of them watch concert without knowing the band or musician. Well, at least, that what i am witnessing when i watch Linkin Park in 2012, Maroon 5 in 2013, or any special stage on festival music event. Some of them got privileged because they father, boyfriend, or any relation are work for the event organizer and got free ticket and they say "yeah why not" and some of them "pengen tahu aja", "biar ikutan gaul". And since they have zero knowledge about what they to experience, then they just "get along". Which is fine. What is not fine by me is they block your view with they enormous tablet or camera entire concert. Or worst is, when they angry and annoying want the crowd get jostle. (Bitch, you watch concert in festival area, if you want to stay pretty buy VIP SEAT)! Ohh, how i hate those kind of people. Come on! Some people really pay with their sweat and tears to watch their hero perform on stage! Some people really felt emotional connection when they hear the chorus directly from the singer. So, please, if you don't really know the band or their music, and you kind of asshole, please, find another source of entertain!

2. Know Your Field
As i know, A Head Full of Dream concert, separated by two kinds of ticket. Standing or Seat. Standing it self, separated by two option, Standing Arena A (who infront of the stage) or Standing Arena B (not that far from stage). And there is so many option in seating area. My tips is, know your stamina, health issue, before you buy a ticket. Fine, you loaded enough to buy VIP Standing (the difference with Standing A is they got special package from official Coldplay and they can enter the stadium earlier and secure their space), but when the concert started you find yourself super anxiety inside human flood who jostle around you. Or you just can not standing, singing, without drinking (in Melbourne, you can bring bottle of water but you can not keep the cap on. It is to avoid the hostility in human being that always have urgency to throw anything in stage. At least if they do, the bottle is not on full of water) for 4 hours non-stop. And the worst thing is, you collapse and big guy that secure the stage will took you out from arena! Fun killer! So, i am not say you weak, but if you are just not that kind of person who has stamina to be in Standing Arena, please buy Seating ticket. Because, even if you can squat or took a seat in standing arena, it will be super annoying to people around. And if the crowd getting crazy, you can die by getting stamped! I'm serious!

3. Fun Bracelet
One thing that i really like in A Head Full of Dream concert is they make us as part of the event. They will give you all a bracelet, a fun colorful bracelet that will shining an LED light during the concert. Super fun and beautiful. My tips is, make sure you already open the safety string (or whatever it called) that attached to your bracelet before the concert started. Because mine was not turn on because i forgot to remove the safety string. huhu!

4. Welcome to The Train of Nostalgia
Now, we at the point that i certainly believe that you already know Coldplay since (at least) Parachute album. So, if we are at the same age, it means we both still in elementary school when we first time watch Coldplay in MTV Channel. I remember my first Coldplay addict is "In My Place". English is not my first language, so basically i don't what they singing about, but i love how Chris Martin look in the video. Not handsome but interesting enough to makes me waiting another video in MTV. Then, slowly but sure, i star learning my English through lyric. Then i learn so many things about love and relationship by Coldplay's song. When Chris promise to Gwyneth to bleeding his self dry in "Yellow", or taking care of Gwyneth after losing her grandparent in "Fix You". I start imagine what how fall in love should feel from "Shiver". I start recreate my ideal man through Chris lyrics. Until, i grow up, met a guy(s), fall in love ( i guess), broken heart, fall in love again, got broken again, and go on and on until i realize a story that Chris singing about is only living in his lyrics. And watching their performance live is re-alive my inner pre-teens when i discover their music for the first time. I dont know about you guys, but i wish you have some emotional attachment with the boys  from London.

5. Prepare to Amaze
I know, able to watch Coldplay might already great enough but this concert are one of the greatest work of art! You will amaze with the lighting, lazer, the sound, the effect with your bracelet. Everything was amazing.

6. Make a Friend
Maybe you going to this concert with your friend, but making friend with another Coldplay fans were incredible.

7. Get a Merchant
They got t-shirt, vinyl, tote bag, CD albums, and many things! Brelieve me! Buy one, you will need it!

Have a nice concert Hari. Believe me you are going to have the beat day of your life! So envy huhu
